This is an email I recieved from the offcial Aaliyah site as does all the fans that registered at her officail forum:
To Aaliyah fans around the world, Aaliyah's family and Aaliyah.com wanted all of you who signed up for the Aaliyah.com newsletter to take a moment today and reflect on our own lives and the ones who were taken from us August 25, 2001. "To all of the fans who love and cherish Aaliyah, we would like to thank you for your continued love, compassion and tenderness as another year goes by without Baby Girl. It is still very hard to believe that 4 years have passed since that dreadful day. It has not gotten easier as we continue on with our days still missing Aaliyah but knowing she is still with us. We all have lost so much but Baby Girl still lives in our minds and in our hearts. She continues to give, to love and to show that anything is possible. Because of you, her light continues to shine bright. Thank you for not letting that light go out... We also wanted to say thank you for all of your beautiful messages and lovely letters that have been sent during this time and continue to be sent. We thank you all. God bless all of you... With Aaliyah In Our Hearts... Always... The Haughton Family, Michael, Rashad and Diane"
For Residents in the New York City area: Please pay your respects at Aaliyah's New York City Weeping Willow Tree on this day. Central Park Conservancy and New York City have dedicated a Weeping Willow tree to our beloved Aaliyah on the pond in central park. It is located right next to Strawberry Fields.
Those who may not be able to make the trip up to Ferncliff can visit and leave flowers, notes, etc. This Weeping Willow tree was endowed in memory of Aaliyah by her family. The tree is located on the shoreline of the Lake in the area known as Cherry Hill. This is a young tree and will grow to be a delicate, yet magnificent, tree...
On this Day, support the Aaliyah Memorial Fund: News: Please make a donation to the Aaliyah Memorial Fund directly at www.aaliyah.com
------------------------------------------------------------------
Rest in peace Aaliyah.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Haughton family today.
